Please watch the below training video (and read the instructions below).  If you have trouble viewing this video from your Clover device, try logging in as ADMIN.  If you still have trouble, you can watch the video from a PC or Mac at appheaven.helpshift.com

To setup the PRINTING of variable barcode items, please follow the following steps EXACTLY.

1.  You must use the Clover INVENTORY app (or Clover dashboard) to setup any item that you wish to print VARIABLE barcodes for.

2. Be sure to set the inventory item to "Weight Based" and the unit MUST be "oz", "g", "lb" or "kg".

3.  The Clover INVENTORY app defaults to showing a gray "oz" in the units field but this is ONLY A HINT and the actual word "oz" (or other unit) MUST BE typed for the item to be recognized as a weight based item by the Weigh & Pay PRO app.

4. The Product Code must be set to a unique 5 digit code.  The code must be EXACTLY 5 digits and is entirely up to you to decide what this code will be but it MUST be unique to your inventory. Example: "12453"

5. The SKU must be set to the product code + "-" + the number of days that the product is good before expiring.  For example, if you are working with LOBSTER and LOBSTER expires in 5 days and the Product Code for LOBSTER is "12453"  then set the SKU to "12453-5".

6. Make sure you SAVE your INVENTORY items.

7.. Use the WnP app to create any needed containers for the item for which you wish to print variable barcodes.

8. Go to the REGISTER app.  Place the item for which you wish to print a variable barcode on the scale.  The regular WnP popup should appear.  You need to pick the inventory item which you are weighing.  In this case it would be LOBSTER (or whatever the item was that you just created in steps 1-5.

9. Choose the container for this item from the list of containers so that WnP knows how much container weight to subtract from the item (in order to calculate net weight).

10 Tap the PRINT button.  The PRINT button will only be available if you have the EZ Labels app installed.  (Please insure that the EZ Labels has been properly setup and is working).

11. The label that is printed with have a 12 digit UPC: X YYYYY ZZZZZ X     where YYYYY is the SKU and ZZZZZ is the price in pennies.

12. This barcode can be scanned using the WnP app: (a) Go to the WnP app and choose the "3 dot" menu in the top right hand corner and choose "Turn On Variable Barcode".  Press Done.  (You may have to restart the app one time in order for the change to take place).  You can now scan the variable barcode and the WnP app will break the scanned code into the UPC (and look it up in your inventory) and will use the price of the variable barcode and will add the item to your REGISTER upon checkout.

If you wish to NOT see the REGISTER app asking to "Create a new item" whenever you scan a variable barcode, just login to the REGISTER using an employee PIN for whom their permissions don't allowing adding inventory items before scanning your item.
